Students Compete in Spanish Spelling Bee
On Jan. 24, CFB held the 3rd Annual Spanish Spelling Bee. The top 4 elementary district winners qualified to attend the upcoming first-ever Elementary Spanish Regional Bee.

The Fine Arts Dept. would like to invite you to the Annual Youth Art Month Art Show and reception hosted by Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Carrollton.
Art from around the district, represented by students Kindergarten through 12th grade will be on display, with a reception in the hospital lobby.

CFB Council PTA Reflections Award Ceremony
Congratulations to the students who participated this year in Reflections, the National PTA Art Program. The theme for 2016-17 was ‘What is your story?’ Students from Kinder through 12 grade may participate in 6 different categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts.
Students compete in their school and the top 20% advance to the CFB Council PTA judging. In the picture above are the Overall Award of Excellence recipients with an entry that advanced to State level of judging. Good luck to you!

UIL One-Act Play Contest Results
On Friday, Dec.2, all six middle schools competed in the UIL One Act Play contest. It was an outstanding day of theater, acting, and production. All of the students and teachers worked hard for many weeks leading up to the competition. Special thanks to the Creekview High School Theater Department for assisting with the event. We offer our congratulations to Ms. Lindsay Power and the students at Polk Middle School for winning first place play, “Small Actors”. Additional congratulations goes to Blalack Middle School for second place play with “Dark Road”, and to Field Middle School for third place play, “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.” We are proud of all our theater departments!
DeWitt Perry Middle School Honors Fight Against Cancer
On October 28th, students and staff honored the life of Sammy Rangel by forming a gold ribbon to signify the fight against childhood cancer.

DeWitt Perry’s 2016 Career Day was held on November 4th and was a huge success. Our students had the opportunity to learn from professionals within the local community; sharing the message that through education, their futures are bright and their possibilities are endless!
Perry Middle School Orchestra Students Excel at All-Region 2016
On Saturday October 15th 2016, students from the DeWitt Perry MS Orchestra competed in the audition process for the All-Region Orchestra. These students competed in a highly competitive process against other students from different school districts that make up Region 31. We are proud to announce that the following students earned a coveted spot in the All-Region Orchestra and will represent DeWitt Perry MS at the clinic and concert in December.

Keeping Your Child Safe form Harm in the Real and Virtual World
CFBISD is hosting a parent education presentation on “Keeping Your Child Safe From Harm – In the Real and Virtual World” on November 2, 2016 from 6:30-7:30 pm at the ESDC in the Texas Room. We are excited to present this very important information to our CFBISD families. We will have both an English and Spanish presentation.
