Majors

METSA MajorsMETSA offers a number of exciting engineering majors:

FastTrack – Students play the role of race car designers, engineers, and drivers as they compete throughout the year on various challenges to reach the national competition.

Computer Science – AP Computer Science A focuses on computing skills related to programming in Java. The new AP Computer Science Principles course will complement AP Computer Science A as it aims to broaden participation in the study of computer science.

Ignite! – Ignite! Is an aeroscience curriculum using PBL to teach Physics, technology, Math, and engineering.  Students design and build rockets as they learn the STEM topics along with problem solving, leadership and teamwork.  Over the course of a school year, students will design and build several small rockets, and have a final projects launching larger rockets to altitudes of one mile and beyond.

Digital Electronics (DE) – DE is an electronics curriculum that uses PBL to expose students to designing and building electronic circuits. From the simplest circuits using simple logic gates, to more complex systems that are controlled by programmable logic devices, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi, students explore the world or circuit design, electronics and electrical engineering. Students learn combinational and sequential logic and what gates, circuits, and controllers apply most effectively to solve project challenges.
