Checkout Policy
The checkout period for all grades is one week with the opportunity to renew books as needed.
Kindergarten: 1 book
1st and 2nd Grades: 2 books
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades: 3 books
*Students may check out extra books as needed for special projects or research.
Library Schedule
The Furneaux Library operates on a flexible library schedule. Teachers schedule weekly visits for book checkout, lessons and research. Students are invited to come to the library to check out new books, to study, to complete their homework, to read quietly, or to use the computers for Internet access or computer generated projects. Students are encouraged to come to the library as often as they need to come. Some students may need to come to the library daily, weekly, or several times in a single day. Students in kindergarten and first grade may check out one book each library visit. Students in second grade through fifth grade may check out two books each library visit. Students working on special projects for classroom assignments may check out additional books as needed.
Fines
There are no overdue fines; however, students must pay for lost or damaged books.
