CFB Student GT Testing Application Window

ACE Elementary/Secondary Grades K – 10:  September 9, 2019 – March 6, 2020
LEAP (already ACE identified) Grades K – 5: September 9, 2019 – April 17, 2020

Non CFB Student GT Testing Application Window

ACE Elementary Grades K – 5: Request GT screening after student begins school in CFB

ACE Secondary Grades 6 – 10:  January 8 – July 21, 2020 (Test dates 6/2/20 & 7/28/20)

LEAP Grades Pre-Kindergarten – 5:  January 8, 2020 – April 19, 2020

  • Families who express interest in GT testing (including LEAP) after the application deadline will be asked to make a request for testing to the student’s CFB school counselor at the start of the next school year.

Procedures for CFB students

  • To request GT testing (ACE) for your CFB student please contact your child’s campus counselor.
  • If your child has participated in any standardized testing within two calendar years from another district, it is important that you provide us with those results priorto testing.
  • CFB Pre-Kindergarten students applying for LEAP testing will be required to attend a short pre-screening to determine readiness for GT evaluation.
  • In order to start the process and to be scheduled for a pre-screening appointment please submit a LEAP Interest form for your child.
  • GT LEAP testing may be considered following ACE placement. Recommendation can be made by the campus, the student, or the parent.  The LEAP program is designed to meet the needs of students in the highly gifted range; evidence that the student may be functioning in that range is required prior to LEAP testing. To request LEAP evaluation for your child please submit a LEAP Interest form.
  • Middle and high school students seeking GT placement for 2020-2021 year after March 6 should see their counselor to request testing held on either June 2 or July 28, 2020.

Procedures for students NOT ENROLLED in CFB

  • Refer to the dates above before filling out the forms listed below.
  • For all students: Please be sure to complete the application for admission and online enrollment.  For more information go to cfbstellar.com
  • If you wish to have your current pre-kindergarten through 5th grade child screened for entry into the GT LEAP program please fill out and submit the LEAP Interest form after completing admission and enrollment online.
  • If your child has participated in any standardized testing within two calendar years from another district, it is important that you provide us with those results prior to testing.
  • Pre-Kindergarten students through first grade students applying for LEAP testing will be required to attend a short pre-screening to determine readiness for GT evaluation.
  • In order to start the process and to be scheduled for a pre-screening appointment please submit a LEAP Interest form for your child.
  • Testing for secondary students not enrolled in CFB who desire GT programming for the next school year will occur on Tuesday, June 2, 2020; or Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Please email Stacy Carroll at least one week in advance of these dates.
