Laura Herchenrader
Hello Wrangler Family! My name is Laura K. Herchenrader and I am the Assistant Principal at Sheffield Elementary. The past 20 years I have spent my professional career in CFB.  I am looking forward to leading and learning at an exceptional school with wonderful students, parents, and staff. I am the product of public education in North Texas and passionately believe education is our nation’s most precious resource. My family and I have been residents of Farmers Branch for over 19 years. We consider ourselves lucky to be part of such a wonderful community.   Please know we are here to support you and your students in any way possible, and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I love Sheffield Elementary and everything it has to offer. I am truly a Wrangler at heart as I started my career at Sheffield as a 2nd grade teacher before continuing on to teach 3rd and 4th grade here as well. I left Sheffield to pursue my career in administration as the Assistant Principal at Rosemeade and Riverchase Elementary during the 2017 – 2018 school year. I am blessed to continue my journey as an Assistant Principal back here at Sheffield Elementary! I am starting my second year as the AP at Sheffield. I cannot wait to continue making life long connections with the students, parents, community, and staff!
On a personal note, I am married to a wonderful husband whose name is Brad. He is supportive and loves to be a part of our school community! We both grew up in the DFW area and we enjoy exploring all Dallas has to offer. We have a son named Rhys who is 8 months old and two dogs, Leia and Alice. They are all very high energy and keep us entertained.
I believe school should be a fun place to be and strive every day to build a school community that encompasses this! Building relationships and helping students be successful in all that they do is my #1 goal! Please reach out to me, as I am here to serve you and our community!
