5th Grade Track Meet

5thgradetrackFifth Grade Students compete in an annual district-wide track meet every year in October at Standridge Stadium. Track events include 50, 100, 200, 400, and 800-meter dashes, and the 4 x100 relays. Field events include softball throw and two types of long jumps. Team events include the hula hoop contest and the tug of war contest.

Getting Ready for the Track Meet

This is a reminder to parents that during the last week in October, CFBISD elementary schools will participate in the annual 5th-grade district track meet at Standridge Stadium. Parents are welcome to meet us at Standridge at 9:00 AM and sit in the parent designated section of the west (home) side of the stands by the finish line on the track. Elementary students will be running in the lanes assigned to them by school and seated in the school’s assigned section. Students must wear appropriate clothing for the day. Please remember to send the following items with your child:

  • Sack Lunch
  • Juices
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Water
  • Sunscreen
  • Snacks
  • Gatorade

8:30 AM – 9:00 AM – Departure/Arrival at Stadium
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM – 800 Meter Run (Boys/Girls)
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM – 400 Meter Run (Boys/Girls)
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM – Hula Hoop Contest
9:45 AM – 10:15 AM – Special P.E. Events on Field and Track (as Hula Hoop finishes and before track/field events start)
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Boys Running Events (50/100/200)
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Girls Field Events (Long Jump/Softball Throw/Broad Jump)
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Girls Running Events (50/100/200)
