Every year, various departments of Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD report unclaimed cash and valuables from uncashed checks, deposits, refunds, overpayments or any other transactions creating a credit balance. This property is presumed abandoned and is subject to Chapter 76 of the Title 6, Unclaimed Property Texas Property Code. Items and cash valued over $100 are sent to the State of Texas and a search for such unclaimed properties can be conducted on their site at http://www.cpa.state.tx.us/up/.
Property valued at $100 or less that is presumed abandoned is held by the Finance Department and can be claimed by the owners when they provide the proper identification.
When contacting the district, please be prepared to provide the following information:
- Owner’s name as identified in the following unclaimed property listing.
- The owner’s current address and all previous addresses for the last five years including post office boxes.
- The owner’s social security number.
- A daytime telephone number, i.e., from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
