Important Note: Students should read all information carefully to determine if online courses are the right choice for them.

Successful online students need to commit to the following course requirements:

  • Successfully complete an online student orientation within two weeks from the time their registration is submitted.
  • Dedicate 10 to 12 hours per week to each semester course. Students who wish to complete a full year course during the summer session should expect to dedicate additional time.
  • Login to work a minimum of 4 days per week
  • Meet weekly timelines for completing and submitting assignments
  • Complete weekly fitness logs for Physical Ed. Class and Pre and Post Fitness Assessments
  • Check email regularly and communicate weekly with your online teacher

Important Note: Students should view an online course as a learning opportunity that is more flexible than attending seated classes.  Online courses should not be viewed as less time consuming or less challenging than regular academic classes. Semester courses require 70 to 90 hours of online engagement to successfully complete.   The primary reasons for the lack of student success are not staying on pace and working regularly in the course.

Students who may be traveling in the summer without internet access should plan on working ahead before leaving on their trip so they are not behind schedule when returning to their course. We do not recommend online courses for students who will be without internet access for more than two weeks in the summer.

CFB VCampus may be able to assist students who need online access to complete online courses. Please contact us at virtualcampus@cfbisd.edu should you need assistance with computer or internet access.

Students will need to complete all summer coursework and their exams by August 1, 2016.  A pacing calendar with due dates for all assignments and exams is provided for each course.

See the links on the right side of this page for information about registering for online courses offered by CFB Virtual Campus.
