Science/Engineering Pathway Application Process

The Science & Engineering Pathway participation opportunity is open to all students that will attend Newman Smith High School. The STEM Coordinator, Pathway Director, Pathway students, and teachers from Newman Smith will host informational meetings at the middle schools in the district. Campus visits will take place at various times.

Interested students will need to submit a completed application. Students may request applications from the Science & Engineering Pathway’s program facilitator or download a copy. The application will be submitted with recommendation from the student’s math and science teachers and a current transcript.

A committee will review the student’s application, academic standing, and will decide on program eligibility. The student and parents will be notified of the committee’s decision by the last Friday in January. Applications are due by on the Monday prior to the decision date.

(Recommendation documents are required for current Newman Smith students only)
