How Can I Get Information in CFBISD?
The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD offers a variety of methods for parents and community members to receive district news and information. We encourage our public to use the methods that work best for you and your family.

Communications Methods in CFBISD

  • ParentSquare – The district, as well as individual campuses and departments, send phone, text and email notifications about district information to parents through the mass communication platform. CFBISD uses the system to notify families of special alerts, student attendance, lunch balances, and school closings.  ParentSquare is also used to collect parent/guardian permission slips and for processing volunteer background checks.
  • Print Materials and Flyers – The district, as well as campuses and departments, provide print materials to families on a regular basis. Each campus distributes information to families through various means, including weekly folders for elementary students and mailing important documents to homes. The district provides information in English and Spanish.
  • District Website – Our district’s website, www.cfbisd.edu, provides up-to-date event dates, news, accolades, Directory of schools, School Locator, special alerts, school closing updates and information. The district website also links to campus and department websites. The website also provides some information in Spanish. Visit this site often to stay current on news and information.
  • Blog – School-a-hoop is a blog for parents with the mission to enable and inspire you to be confident that your child’s educational experience is the best it can be.
  • Blackboard Connect – The district, as well as individual campuses and departments, send phone and email notifications about district information to parents through our mass notification system. The district also uses this system to notify families of special alerts and school closings.
  • Over 65 Blackboard Connect – Our “over-65″  CFBISD residents, can participate in, free Blackboard Connect information program. Through Blackboard Connect, residents will receive information weekly district events or achievements during the school year via telephone or email once they provide preferred contact information.
  • Electronic Newsletters – CFBISD offers parents and community members the opportunity to sign-up for several e-newsletters including The Great News, Ambassadors, and Special Alerts. You can sign up for the e-newsletters online.
  • CFB TV – CFB-TV can be seen on cable television. Watch CFB-TV on channel 98 (Spectrum) or Channel 38 (on Frontier.)  School board meetings are recorded and played back on CFB-TV at 6 am, 10 am, and 6 pm.  School board meetings can also be seen on-demand on our YouTube page.
  • Social Media – Social media including Facebook and Twitter allow the district a unique avenue to interact. As the technology evolves, we will continue to seek new and innovative ways to dialogue with stakeholders.
