Sheffield Elementary is named for Donald H. Sheffield, who served as president of the district’s Board of Trustees from 1972 until 1990 and as a board member since 1964. The primary school, opened in 1985 houses students in kindergarten through second grade. The intermediate school, added in 1989 because of the residential growth in the area, houses grades three through five.
