IBA (International Business Academy)

The International Business Academy

(IBA) at Newman Smith HS, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD successfully accomplishes its mission of “giving students a foundation in marketing, economics, finance, language, and the cultural aspects of international
business to become successful in their chosen area of business.” IBA students are equipped to determine a more specific college major through a challenging curriculum, real world experiences of domestic and international
travel, paid or unpaid internships in a field of their choice, and partnerships with business, industry and post-secondary education. Students are exposed to the vast field of careers associated with business, and are prepared to compete with peers entering post-secondary.

Creekview High School

Law & Criminal Justice Academy

Creekview’s Law and Criminal Justice Academy provides opportunities for students to explore various aspects of the American legal system. Students may choose from the Law, Law Enforcement, or the Political Science
strands, compete on our Mock Trial or Moot Court teams, and study through either the traditional or Dual Credit pathway. Experiences both in and out of the classroom help students build relationships and leadership skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills and oral advocacy skills which will be valuable both in the legal profession as well as any other career path a student might choose after high school.

Turner High School

AMAT (Academy of Media Arts & Technology)

Our students are introduced to all strands during their freshman year. Beginning with the sophomore year, students generally take one class in a strand each year.

During their senior year, AMAT students complete an internship and senior exhibition class as a capstone experience in the academy. All students who complete requirements graduate with a seal on their diploma and wear academy regalia during the RLT graduation ceremony.

BioMed

Our goal as educators is to provide students with valuable experiences, appropriate curriculum, and real-world applications that will help them become successful members of society in the health care professions. Students are exposed to real-world settings through clinical experiences, speakers and field trips. In their junior and senior years, students may complete a one-year clinical practicum in the medical setting that complements their field of interest.

METSA (Math, Engineering, Technology, and Science)
