Howdy! I am a proud Fighting Texas Aggie and a passionate educator. I have served the district at Creekview High School as a mathematics teacher and assistant cheerleading coach. While teaching, I also received my Masters of Education in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification from the University of North Texas.

I am married and have 7 nieces and nephews all at different stages of life. My husband and I enjoy watching them grow and explore their interests. In my spare time, I enjoy decorating, yoga, reading, comedy, cooking, and being around family and friends. I am excited to be a part of and work with the Polk Panther Family!

Hello Polk Nation. My name is Calvin Capps and I have the distinct honor to serve as the 7th grade Assistant Principal. This will be my 10th year in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. My journey as an educator started in the Applied Academics class as a paraprofessional. With my drive to continue helping students I began my teaching career as a Positive Attitude for Success teacher. Knowing the struggle many students have in the classroom I became a Behavior Resource Specialist. Wanting to continue to help as many students as I could I became an Assistant Principal. My personal story of going from homeless to being the first ever in my family to receive a higher education degree helps me connect with my students. I received my Bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas and my Masters of Education in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification from University of Texas at Arlington. Equity for all is crucial for success, and I am happy to be at Polk to help all students be college ready, career ready, and future ready.
