CFBISD Retirement Parade

 

Parents and staff members took part in a drive by parade to celebrate the career of two Polk Middle School retirees this morning, Martha Morgan and Patrica Crowder. The parade included gifts for the retirees including flowers, cakes, balloons, and signs to celebrate their years of service to CFB!

This year’s retirement ceremony included 68 individuals who dedicated a combined 1,334 years of service over their careers teaching, molding and preparing the next generation to succeed upon graduation.

Taco Cabana Helps Feed Kids Through Free Lunch Program

Taco Cabana is offering kids a free lunch – including a bean and cheese taco, chips, queso and a drink at all Texas locations through the end of summer. The program is available to kids 12 and under every weekday from 11 a.m. to noon.  

The offer is available through the drive-thru only at all company-owned locations in Texas for a limited time. Children must be present and accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a free meal. No purchase is necessary.

Children’s Health Offers Free Virtual Health Care for CFBISD Families

Children’s Medical and the Metrocrest Hospital Authority Offer Free Virtual Healthcare

Children’s Health is partnering with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD to provide you and your family with safe access to telehealth and telebehavioral health services from the safety and comfort of your home. Starting June 1, 2020 through August 1, 2020, we are offering all Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD families Urgent Care and Behavioral Health Care Virtual Visits for children and adults through the Virtual Visit app by Children’s HealthSM Virtual Care. The cost of the virtual visits is being covered by Metrocrest Hospital Authority, and there will be no charge to you when you use code CFBISD. Adults and students are able to securely video chat with a provider about illnesses, injuries and mental health by accessing the web portal or downloading the mobile app at childrens.com/virtualvisit.

  • To conduct an urgent care virtual visit for children and adults, please go to childrens.com/virtualvisit to view step by step videos on how to download and to log in to the Virtual Visit app.
  • To conduct a behavioral health virtual visit for adults, please go to childrens.com/virtualvisit to view step by step videos on how to download and log in to the Virtual Visit app.
  • To conduct a behavioral health virtual visit for children, please call 844-856-6926 to schedule an appointment with a Children’s Health Care Manager.

Remember to use the code CFBISD for all services so that there is no charge to you.

Thanks to Metrocrest Services as they continue serving our CFB families and community. With our schools closing, impacting thousands of children, and with the uncertainty regarding wages for many in our community, Metrocrest Services is committed to remain open to serve the needs of our community. 

How can you help during the summer months?
Volunteer

Metrocrest Services continues to need help at their food pantry on Hutton in Farmers Branch. If you would like to assist in the pantry, and are not in an at-risk category, please go online to set up your profile and sign up for a shift. Sign up to volunteer

Funds are needed to ensure the pantry remains stocked and families stay housed. Donate here.

Metrocrest Services regularly posts an Urgent Needs List. These items can be taken to the Hutton location or you can order these on the Amazon Wish List.
