Early College High School Named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School

On September 30th, U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, recognized Early College High School as one of 337 schools in the nation as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2014 based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing
achievement gaps among student subgroups.

“These great schools are fulfilling the promise of American education—that all students, no matter their name or zip code, can flourish when schools provide safe, creative, and challenging learning environments,” Secretary Duncan said. “National Blue Ribbon Schools are models of consistent excellence and a resource for other schools and districts. We celebrate them for their tireless effort and boundless creativity in reaching and teaching every student.”

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. The award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.

Congratulations to all of our ECHS family, past and present, on this wonderful award!

Early College High School – CFB High Schools Come Together in Friendship and Community Service

On February 18th, the Creekview Student Council officers hosted a FriendSHIP dinner that was attended by representatives from Newman Smith, R. L. Turner, Ranchview and Early College High School.

The young leaders shared ideas for projects, fundraising, and service. In the spirit of collaboration, it was decided that there would be a district-wide community service project. All schools are going to collect toiletries, socks and other items that would be helpful to people in need. Donated items can be delivered to Creekview High School after Spring Break on March 16th.  The “Blessing Bags” will be assembled and then delivered the first week in April.
