Turner Drumline placed third in their division at the Lone Star Classic Drumline Competition this past Saturday. The Lone Star Classic Drumline Competition is the largest high school drumline competition in the state of Texas. They also received Best Snare Line and Best Tenor Line in their division.

Creekview High School – 1st Annual Film Festival
What: Students may enter (1) one film into each of the four categories: Documentary, Narrative, Traditional Animation, Computer Animation
When: Entries are to be submitted via GoogleDrive to Whitney Kelley (kelleyw@cfbisd.edu) or Renee Putter (putterr@cfbisd.edu) between December 9, 2016 and January 5, 2017. Â All entries will be screened on January 13th at Creekview High School, and winners will be announced.

Who can enter?
Open to all CFBISD full-time high school students: Creekview, Newman Smith, RL Turner, Ranchview, Early College High School
Will there be prizes?
Awards will be given for Best of Show, Best in Category and People’s Choice. Â Talk with your campus coordinator about entering the State Competition from your campus.
How much does it cost?
$10 per individual entry. Â Each student may only enter up to 4 film, one per category.
How long can the films be?
3-7 minutes total, including intro and credits

Ranchview Band Earns First Division
The Ranchview Band performed at the Region 31 Marching Contest at Pennington Field in the blazing heat on Tuesday, October 18.  They have worked extremely hard all season to put a great product on the field for competition. All three judges awarded the band 1st Division “Superior” ratings giving them a First Division Superior rating in marching!

Perry Middle School Orchestra Students Excel at All-Region 2016
On Saturday October 15th 2016, students from the DeWitt Perry MS Orchestra competed in the audition process for the All-Region Orchestra. These students competed in a highly competitive process against other students from different school districts that make up Region 31. We are proud to announce that the following students earned a coveted spot in the All-Region Orchestra and will represent DeWitt Perry MS at the clinic and concert in December.

Furneaux Art Students Skype with Illinois Artist
 For two weeks, Furneaux art students have been celebrating “International Dot Day” through pointillism art. The entire 5th grade class had the opportunity to Skype with pointillism artist from Illinois, Kate Askegaard. Askegaard creates large works of art, one dot at a time.
Excited and engaged, students asked the artist questions about pointillism technique and experience.
