Syrian Refugee Portrait Project at RHS

Syrian Refugee Portrait Project at RHS

Advanced artists at Ranchview High School participated in a Syrian refugee portrait project called The Memory Project. The Memory Project is a non-profit effort by UNICEF. The project allows students to create and donate portraits to youth around the world that face substantial challenges. RHS artists were assigned images of Syrian refugee students. These portraits are hand-delivered to the refugee camps. Art teacher, Caroline Kinlaw, states, “the portraits give the recipients something tangible, showing that someone on the other side of the world cares about them. These advanced artists are working to build a kinder world, one portrait at a time.”
