CHS Swimmer Takes 4th at State

CHS Swimmer Takes 4thCHS Swimmer Takes 4th at State UIL competition in the 100m breaststroke. Creekview High School athlete, Jennifer Roessler, competed in swimming at the state level for the 4th consecutive year. Roessler finished 14th in the 50m Freestyle (24.81 prelims, 25.00 finals). Most noteworthy, she then took an amazing 4th place in the 100m breast stroke (1:05.54 prelims, 1:05.37 finals). Roessler will continue her swimming career at Iowa State University in the fall. Swimming coach, Bunker Hill, stated, “Please congratulate Jennifer on her final trip to the Texas 5A State Meet. We all wish Jennifer additional success.”

CHS Wrestlers Are State Qualifiers

CHS Wrestlers Are State QualifiersCHS wrestlers are state qualifiers after reigning victorious at the UIL 5A-Region III Championships at Bryan High School. After two days of competition, wrestlers from Creekview High School ended the tournament with the girls’ team named Regional Runner-UP and the boys’ team finishing in 3rd place. Ten wrestlers from CHS advance to the state tournament, including five regional finalists and four regional champions.

CHS Swimmer State 2018 Bound

CHS Swimmer State 2018 BoundCHS swimmer State 2018 bound as senior Jennifer Roessler makes her fourth trip to compete for UIL gold. The swimmer from Creekview High School is at the state level of competition for the fourth consecutive year. She will compete beginning Feb. 16 in two events; 50m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke. Roessler is coached by Bunker Hill. The competition will be held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

Parent Education – Dyslexia

Parent Education - DyslexiaCarrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District is hosting its dyslexia parent education program on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrollton Room of the Educational Services Division Complex (Building B) located at 1820 Pearl Street, Carrollton, TX 75006.

Please plan to spend approximately one hour learning about the needs of dyslexia students and how these needs are addressed in the classroom.

Creekview Department of Dance & MGDC Present Spring Dance Workshop

Moving Ground Dance Company and the Creekview Department of Dance are excited to present our annual dance workshop, featuring artistic dance!

Your child will learn contemporary modern dance and hip hop as well as rhythmic exercises and body conditioning. This event is for boys and girls, and we encourage all to join us! There will be a performance for parents at 11:30 am in the gym.

A dance clinic t-shirt is included, plus a snack & drink at break time.

Please complete the registration form below and mail it along with payment to the address at the bottom of the page, or bring it to register on-site. We accept cash or money order. Walk-ins are welcome!

  • Clinic will be held in the Creekview High School Dance Hall – 3201 Old Denton Road, next to the Gymnasiums.
  • Attire is exercise wear, bare feet for modern, tennis shoes for hip hop, and long hair should be in a ponytail.

All proceeds from this event will be used to help fund travel to the National High School Dance Festival, costumes and dance expenses for the company.

Creekview Powerlifters Place at Princeton

Creekview Powerlifters Place at PrincetonCreekview Powerlifters Place at Princeton Invitational on Jan. 20. The Creekview High School powerlifting team consists of boys’ and girls’ teams. The competition field consisted of 17 different schools with over 200 total lifters vying for top place. The competition was held at Princeton High School in Princeton, TX.

CHS Law Teams Are Duke Bound

CHS Law Teams are Duke Bound

CHS Law Teams Are Duke BoundFour CHS Law Teams are Duke Bound – a new record for Creekview High School. The four teams of students from the Creekview Law & Criminal Justice Academy will compete in the Duke University International Invitational Moot Court Tournament in March.

The four teams are:

Simon Peña and Alexis Phan
Joanna Boyer and Evan Miller
Amena Tep and Daniel Baldizon
Aileen Mai and Joey Bremer

The application process for this tournament involved teams writing a legal memorandum applying given law to a fact pattern involving a company seeking an injunction in an intellectual property dispute with a rival company.  The case students will argue in March involves international law and trade secrets.  These students are now preparing three different cases at the same time. They are preparing for; a civil age discrimination case for YMCA State at the end of next week, a criminal 4th amendment case for the Harlan Institute’s Virtual Competition at the end of February; and the international law case for Duke on March 23.

CHS Singers Make All-State Choir

CHS Singers Make All-State ChoirCHS Singers Make All-State Choir for 2018. Four students from Creekview High School competed in Arlington, TX on Jan. 13. Two singers from CHS emerged triumphant from the competitive Area B choral auditions. Jessica Hausmann was placed as 1st Chair in the All-State Mixed Choir. Hasoo Eun was placed 2nd Chair in the All-State Tenor/Bass Choir.

As a result of their placement, Eun and Hausmann will perform at the Texas Music Educators Convention on Feb. 7. For those who would like to hear these singers perform in person – your chance has arrived. The CHS Choral Department is presenting their annual Variety Show on Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets will be $5 at the door.

Carrollton Mayor Visits Law Academy

Carrollton Mayor Visits Law AcademyCarrollton Mayor Visits Law Academy at Creekview High School. The Law & Criminal Justice Academy at CHS began a new event during the advisory period – a monthly speaker series. The inaugural speaker for the event was Carrollton Mayor, Kevin Falconer. Falconer spoke about servant leadership, civil responsibility, and his path to public office. The Mayor then took questions from academy students.

The Law and Criminal Justice Academy provides opportunities for students to explore various aspects of the American legal system.  Students may choose from the Law or Law Enforcement strands, may compete on Mock Trial or Moot Court teams, and may study through either the traditional or Dual Credit pathway.
