Bush Athletic Update 9-14-18

Barbara Bush Middle SchoolThis week the Broncos took on the Blalack Bears at Bush in 7th and 8th grade volleyball and football action.

On Monday night, 7th grade B lady Broncos volleyball team won tonight with scores of 25 to 15 and 25 to 18!  It was a great job by our ladies! A team volleyball fell just a little short but had amazing serves, hits, and worked great as a team.

Our 7th grade football teams shut out Blalack Monday night.  The 7th grade B team beat the Bears 26-0, scoring in the air,  on the ground,  and on Defense.  The Bronco A team followed that up with a 6-0 victory.  Both teams did an excellent job of overcoming wet and muddy field conditions.

On Tuesday night,  the mighty Broncos 8th grade football teams hosted the Blalack Bears.  The Bush B team was able to move the ball well on offense, but struggled to finish drives.  However,  our lone scoring drive was the difference in the game and our Broncos got their first victory of the season winning 8-0.

The Bush A team had similar successes on offense and did a remarkable job on Defense, stopping the Bears triple option.  We were able to punch it in the end zone in the 4th quarter and held on to win 6-0.

Thursday night the 8th grade lady Broncos volleyball teams concluded our week against Blalack. A team worked hard and put forth great effort but fell just a little short, despite amazing serves and digs. B team took home two hard fought wins! They worked great as a team, never have up, and showed Blalack that they came out to play!

We have been working hard all week to prepare for our series of games next week vs Long Middle School. Action starts Monday with our 7th grade football and volleyball teams hosting the Falcons at Bush.

Thank you for all your support!!
