Rosemeade Elementary’s Student Council sponsored a bulletin board spotlighting our hometown heroes in recognition of Veterans Day. Heroes that were recognized ranged from grandfathers, grandmothers, dads, moms, aunts, uncles, sisters, bothers, as well as great-grandparents from the different branches of our armed services. Additionally, students showed their support by either wearing red, white, and blue or camouflage clothing.
Rosemeade Sponsors Food Drive
Rosemeade Elementary’s student council sponsored a food drive to help benefit the Metrocrest Services Food Pantry in Farmers Branch. The school brought in enough food to fill up two SUVs. Council members, with some of their peers, helped load the collected food into the vehicles for transport to Metrocrest Services.
Rosemeade Destination Imagination Team Experience State Competition
The Rosemeade Destination Imagination team placed 9th at the state competition! The students were very excited to perform and did a great job explaining their solution to the appraisal team. They learned and grew a lot this year, demonstrating excellent teamwork and presentation skills. Congratulations!
Riverchase Elementary Featured on CBS Channel 11
Stuffed Animals Sleepover at Riverchase Elementary
Literacy Night at Riverchase Elementary on February 9th was a blast. Kindergarten through second graders who attended were given an invitation to bring a stuffed animal to the library for a weekend sleepover (stuffed animals only).
Riverchase Elementary Collects Can Tabs for Ronald McDonald House
Students and staff at Riverchase Elementary have started a can tab drive for the Ronald McDonald House. As of January 12, 10,000 tabs have been collected. The campus goal is continue collecting through the end of the school year.
Riverchase Elementary Has “House” Competition
Riverchase is divided into one of three color ‘houses’ for the 2015-2016 school year. Each student earns points for positive behavior such as listening, being prepared, manners, being on time. Point totals accumulate for the month, culminating in a school assembly to learn the house totals. The winning house has 30 minutes of fun with bounce houses, popsicles, sidewalk chalk and basketballs. There is an opportunity each month for houses to win as the points start all over.
McCoy Elementary Makes Sandwiches for Homeless Shelters
Students at McCoy Elementary school volunteered to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless.
Landry Elementary Hosted Multicultural Night
