Sheffield PTA Holds Color Fun Run

Sheffield PTA Holds Color Fun RunStudents at Sheffield Elementary participated in the first PTA “Color Fun Run.” Students who wanted to participate were blasted with color chalk by parents and volunteers as they ran the obstacle course. Students raced against each other, ran across hula-hoops, and walked across balance beams during the fun run. Proceeds from the event will help provide school buses for school field trips this spring.

National PTA Reflections Contest Kick-Off

Heroes Around MeFor the 50th year, the National PTA is holding its annual Reflections contest. This art contest allows students Pre-K-12 to submit original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music, composition, photography, and visual arts. Students may participate in the national awards program through their school’s PTA. The theme for 2018-2019 is “Heroes Around Me.” For submission guidelines and deadlines, please contact reflections.kentpta@gmail.com

PTA Hosts Vendor Fair

PTA Hosts Vendor FairThe CFBISD Council PTA will host a Vendor Fair on May 12, 2018, 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon.  The event will be held at the Educational Services Division Complex (ESDC), in the Texas Room, at 1820 Pearl Street, Building B, Carrollton, TX 75006. The event will feature an ever-expanding group of vendors including:

CFBISD Council PTA 2018 Reflections Display of Entries

CFBISD Council PTA 2018 Reflections Display of EntriesThe CFBISD Council PTA 2018 Reflections Display of Entries will be available for viewing over Spring Break. The artwork can be admired at the Carrollton Josey Ranch Public Library Mar. 9 – 19. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students in Pre-K through grade 12 submit original works for the event. The theme for 2018-2019 is “Heroes Around Me.”  This is the 49th year that the Reflections program has been held. Entries are first judged at the local PTA level, before advancing to the State and National events. Consequently, visual arts and photography entries that earned an award of Excellence or Merit will be on display. Due to the variety of categories available, not all can go on display. Categories include dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts.
