The Dallas Morning News has written an article about Davis Elementary’s self regulation strategy.  Glitter jars and breathing balls are among several mindfulness techniques that have been implemented within the past three years. Lisa Williams, the school’s principal, said she became interested in self-regulation after reading several articles on the subject.
Creekview 10th grade student Hannah Hinojosa represented Creekview and the state of Texas at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts this summer. This conference is part of The National Leadership Academies and has Nobel Prize winners, former astronauts, United States Surgeon Generals and other prominent names in the technology and scientific community presenting and leading sessions.
