Creekview Mock Trial Attends Inaugural Victory in Vegas Invitational

Creekview Mock Trial Attends Inaugural Victory in Vegas Invitational (1)

The Creekview Mock Trial team just returned from the Inaugural Victory in Vegas Invitational Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.  A select few top teams from around the country were invited to attend and Creekview was the only team from Texas honored with an invitation.

This year’s case dealt with the murder of an undercover police officer who had been investigating a college study drug ring.  Over the course of two days of scrimmages and two days of rounds, students argued for and portrayed witnesses on both sides of the case.

Creekview was represented by attorneys Allen Mason, R’Mani Ervin, Liza Frolova, Kassandra Busby, and Natali Arredondo and witnesses Harris Pierce, Yusraa Tariq, Isabella Barkat, and R’Mani Ervin.  Harris Pierce brought home a Top Witness Award for his portrayal of two separate eye witnesses (one for the Prosecution side and one for the Defense).  The team was coached by Brian Sheguit and Creekview alumnus Sydney Franklin.

While in Vegas, the team was also able to hear a keynote address by former mob attorney and former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman, attend a Blue Man Group performance, and visit the Hoover Dam.
