CFBISD Named Best Communities for Music Education for 13th Year

Once again, the CFBISD Fine Arts department has been recognized by the National Music Merchants Association or NAMM as a “2020 Best Communities for Music Education”. This honor is CFBISD’s 13th time to receive this recognition.

NAMM Fine Arts

The Best Communities for Music Education survey acknowledges schools and districts across the United States for their commitment to and support of music education.

NAMM states on its website that the award recognizes and celebrates school districts for their support and commitment to music education and efforts to assure access to music for all students.

I firmly believe that the reason I can answer these questions confidently is because of the talent and hard work of our Fine Arts faculty and the unwavering support of our administration and school board,” said Brett Farr, Director of Fine Arts in CFBISD.

Congratulations to our hard-working fine arts teachers and staff in CFBISD. You are the reason why we have the best fine arts program in the state of Texas.

Ranchview & Creekview Students Compete in Poetry Slam Festival

Ranchview & Creekview Students Make their Mark on Poetry Slam Festival

On Saturday, April 8th, students from Ranchview & Creekview High School represented CFBISD in the “Louder Than a Bomb” Semi-finals.  This event took place at the Latino Cultural Center in Downtown Dallas.

Louder than a Bomb (LTAB) is a high school poetry slam festival and writing program.  LTAB is a 16 week writing program with 3 levels of involvement tailored to fit each campus. The workshops combine old school craft techniques with new school poetics. The students are challenged to study craft through critical examination of literary greats, modern leaders in the genre, and through examination of the lyrics of hip-hop.

Creekview will be moving on to the finals to compete against 4 other schools for the title of LTAB Slam Poetry Champions.  Ranchview is a finalist for the Chuck D Lyricist Activist Award.

Congratulations to all the students that participated & good luck in the finals!
