This year only students desiring an extremely quiet atmosphere will be allowed to come to the library in the morning from 8:15-8:50.
In the past only the first 50 students who could get a pass in the cafeteria could come to the library in the morning. Â Students arriving just a few minutes late could never get a pass. Â It wasn’t very fair.
The solution will be to give as many students as possible a personal pass they can use to come to the library whether they arrive early/on time, a few minutes late, or are dropped off at school with only a few minutes left to come down.
Every student will be given an opportunity to apply/interview for a pass, but only students truly interested in creating and being a part of an extremely quiet environment will be given one.
Two hundred passes will be available to the entire student body so not everyone will be given one.
Students need to be honest with themselves.  Do they want to spend every morning in the quietest room in the building?  If they know they like to use this time in the morning  to visit with friends then this pass is not for them.
The library is looking for students seriously seeking a quiet space to read, study, or work independently on homework/projects. Â They can also use this time to browse the shelves for library books and checkout. Â Books can also be returned and fines paid.
