The process of selecting courses begins in January of each year. Students begin by reviewing their personal graduation plan and transcript for credits they have earned. Counselors and Advisory teachers consult with the student about next year’s course options determined by the student’s claimed endorsement track. Advisory lessons include discussions of post-graduation plans, a review of graduation requirements, and a transcript evaluation. Students receive a listing of available courses for the following school year and are asked to make their selections within a 2 week window. Â
Counselors meet mid-March with each student to review and finalize their selections for the following school year. In April, students and parents have the opportunity to review the course selections in place for the following year. Deadlines for any changes are typically late-April. Once May arrives, the course selection process is completed and work on the overall schedule for the campus begins. From this point, special permission from administration is required to make changes to the student course selections.
