Monica Koen
Welcome to Carrollton Elementary!
I am Monica Koen, the proud Principal of Carrollton Elementary! I have served as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal, and principal in CFBISD. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Penn State Elementary, a Masters of Educational Leadership from University of New Haven, and a Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I am married to my amazing husband Kent and have a little boy, Austin. We currently live in Denton and enjoy spending our weekends outside near a pool!
Our staff prides themselves in providing a strong academic foundation for all students. As the Principal, I look forward to reinforcing the expectations for academic excellence and high achievement, and building positive experiences for all students. I hope each child comes home talking about how great their school is and how wonderful their teachers are this year. I encourage you to ask your student(s) each day to tell you something they learned at school or maybe even about a new friend they met.  This dialogue increases their learning rate and also makes the family stronger.  Our staff works diligently night and day to ensure that your child has a first rate educational experience.  As we strive for academic excellence, I personally challenge you to be a part of this experience as well.
