Blanton’s STEM Academy is in full swing and getting students interested in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Our STEM classes are taught by Ms. Quynh Tran in a three day rotation.
- Our curriculum Engineering in Elementary is a dynamic K-5th grade program that integrates real life situations that impact our planet with a story behind it.
- Students learn global awareness and problems that are faced in different countries and they apply their knowledge to solve these problems or to improve on the ideas that have been tried.
- Another resource used in the program is  LEGO Education which provides students an opportunity to construct models and use their coding abilities to make their projects carry out certain functions.
- Students apply 21st Century skills like collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving abilities to work as a team and create their projects.
- Students K-5 grade have an opportunity to build their own digital portfolio and explain their findings and thinking behind the decisions for their final project.
- Students hone in their oral presentation skills along with their writing abilities for their presentation.
- Parents are able to log in and watch their child’s digital portfolio.
The world is full of possibilities when you join Blanton’s STEM Academy!
