Moving On Up (MOU)
The Moving On Up Program is a vocational training program for qualifying Special Education students who have completed high school graduation requirements. The program was established to assist students to learn the skills necessary to earn and maintain independent employment in the community.  Students attend job training locations Monday to Thursday throughout the community. Some of our job training partners include:  Walmart, Crunch Fitness in Addison, PetSmart, Cicis Pizza, Chick-fil-A, 1-800 Flowers Dallas, Goodwill, CFBISD Schools, and Joe’s Pizza. Students not only learn employment skills, they also learn how to navigate public transportation, maintain finances and develop good communication skills. The goal of the Moving On Up Program is to have all of our students graduate with established employment. Our high expectations, combined with great effort from our students, results in high achievement for each of them.
Diploma Program
The Diploma Program at Mary Grimes Education Center (MGEC) has one goal:  To help all students graduate from high school.  As a result, we offer one-on-one tutoring, preferential seating, individualized graduation plans, and an academic advisor. Additionally, our coursework is 100% online and accelerated to allow for increased flexibility and ease of access – classes can even be completed on a smartphone.
