Every year, since the 9/11 attacks, the Newman Smith High School Leadership students have recognized the contributions of our first responders. The students delivered cards, cookies, and other treats to the Carrollton Police Department and Carrollton Fire Department. The students represent the Newman Smith Student Council and Student Government.

Join us for a free 6 session opportunity to learn more about our teens and ways that you can support, encourage, and guide them through middle school! We will look at the work of Dr. Foster Cline and Jim Fay in their parenting book that focuses on the teenage years.

Seniors, you can still schedule your senior photo sessions! Prestige has two studios in the area: Lewisville (1288 W Main St, Suite. 228) and Plano (840 Central Pkwy E, Suite # 150). You can book online at prestigeportraits.com or call 972-669-9200 (Lewisville) or 972-669-9200 (Plano). It is absolutely free to have your picture taken, but they do offer senior portrait packages if you are interested. You must have your photograph taken with Prestige in order to be in the yearbook.
Prestige will also be on campus November 6th and 7th to take photos. All senior portrait photos must be taken by November 15th.

Who: Dallas Roma Women vs. Brookhaven College Women

Admission: Donations benefit Texas Association of First Responders
Student Life will be there with hot dogs, hamburgers, and snow cones

Bring the kids to the Brookhaven College “Field of Dreams” provided by Soccer Innovations.
Check out the new “Skills King” Volley and Heading Trainer; test your dribbling skills on the Soccer Mannequin Obstacle Course, or passing skills using the Sling Shot Rebounder, play small-sided games or “Bend It Like Beckham” at the Soccer Wall Free Kick Stations.

What: Star Party
When: Tuesday, September 12th from dusk (7:45pm) to around 10:00pm
Where: Farmers Branch Historical Park (2540 Farmers Branch Lane Farmers Branch, TX 75234)
Who: All CFB students, families, and residents
Please join the Texas Astronomical Society on Tuesday, September 12th at the Farmers Branch Historical Park for an evening under the stars. We will have 5-6 large telescopes pointed at various objects in the night sky such as the moon, planets, and various star clusters. You do not need to stay the whole time, come at any time and enjoy the sights. Personnel will be on hand running each telescope and will tell you a little about the objects you are viewing.
In case of cloudy weather the event will be moved to Thursday the 14th.
