The 7th grade Lady Panthers went to Field Middle School to compete in their season opener.

7th B Team:  The B team came out victorious against the Lady Vikings winning 2 out of the 3 sets played. The girls secured their win with great hustle and serves. The outstanding players were J’Andrea Ickom and Allison Alas.

7th A Team:  The A team took Field to three sets, but lost the final set 24-26. They played extremely hard and fought to the very last match. Their effort was outstanding.  The outstanding players were Zakiah Kates and Haley Hudson.

What an amazing night our girls had last night. My ears are still ringing from the excitement and Panther pride shown in support of our girls in the Field MS Gym.

8th B Team:  The B Team stepped on the court to play with heart tonight and it showed through both games.  They had good back court passing that led to several great plays. They are learning their way around the court and were more confident as they played Thursday night.  Several on the team contributed with excellent serving such as Katelyn Ardiles, and Akayla Bolden. Holding the net strong all night was Inaya Lawson as a formidable Center Hitter/blocker.    The B Team ended a drought and celebrated a victory taking the match in two games. 21-25 and  25-22.

8th A Team:  The A Team had a hard fought night. Their passing in the back court is getting better and better to set up plays at the net.  The Lady Panthers kept both games extremely close bringing the games into a tie situation multiple times thought the night. Zenai Jethroe helped the team with some great back court hitting and blocks at the net.  Marisa Bolden also contributed to her teams cause with an outstanding attack. All the girls worked extremely hard but were unable to pull out the victory in the end.  27-25 and 25-16

7th B Team: The boys came out with outstanding energy and excitement. They battled through tough weather conditions and came out on top with a victory 18-0. Caiden Napper had some tough runs and played with awesome effort. It was an overall team effort.

7th A Team: The A team was battled tested and had to with stand the elements to come away with a victory in the last minute of the game to win 8-0 over the Vikings. The players showed awesome effort and left everything they had on the field. Outstanding players of the game were Brandon Patterson with outstanding effort on both sides of the ball, Trevon Wright had the game winning touchdown run and Jordan Jones-Josenberger battled the elements of getting snaps at the quarterback position and came up with some huge plays on the last drive to help get the victory. It was an overall team effort.

Christian Frye played really well on both sides of the ball scoring a rushing touchdown and played really well on defense as well. Bush Athletic Update 9-14-18

Barbara Bush Middle SchoolThis week the Broncos took on the Blalack Bears at Bush in 7th and 8th grade volleyball and football action.

On Monday night, 7th grade B lady Broncos volleyball team won tonight with scores of 25 to 15 and 25 to 18!  It was a great job by our ladies! A team volleyball fell just a little short but had amazing serves, hits, and worked great as a team.

Our 7th grade football teams shut out Blalack Monday night.  The 7th grade B team beat the Bears 26-0, scoring in the air,  on the ground,  and on Defense.  The Bronco A team followed that up with a 6-0 victory.  Both teams did an excellent job of overcoming wet and muddy field conditions.

On Tuesday night,  the mighty Broncos 8th grade football teams hosted the Blalack Bears.  The Bush B team was able to move the ball well on offense, but struggled to finish drives.  However,  our lone scoring drive was the difference in the game and our Broncos got their first victory of the season winning 8-0.

The Bush A team had similar successes on offense and did a remarkable job on Defense, stopping the Bears triple option.  We were able to punch it in the end zone in the 4th quarter and held on to win 6-0.

Thursday night the 8th grade lady Broncos volleyball teams concluded our week against Blalack. A team worked hard and put forth great effort but fell just a little short, despite amazing serves and digs. B team took home two hard fought wins! They worked great as a team, never have up, and showed Blalack that they came out to play!

We have been working hard all week to prepare for our series of games next week vs Long Middle School. Action starts Monday with our 7th grade football and volleyball teams hosting the Falcons at Bush.

Thank you for all your support!!

Central 4th Grade STEM Challenge

Students in Mrs. Scalsky’s class were given materials to build a cup pyramid without using their hands. Students had to cooperate and communicate with each other to successfully complete the challenge. While challenging the mind in building the structure, students had to articulate ideas to their peers as they used other materials to move objects.
