Las Colinas Elementary, Connecting to Those Who Lost Their Lives

Students in third grade are investigating processes and routines. They closely observed the school custodian as he went through the process of raising and lowering the U.S. flag. Students analyzed how the process of putting up and taking down the flag has certain steps. People follow these steps out of respect for our country. Students spent time on the day of 9/11 honoring those innocent victims who lost their lives that day and felt empathy for their families.

McCoy Students Take Parents to P.E.

McCoy Elementary students are taking parents to P.E. class to show them the activities and games they have learned. Parents are invited to participate with their children in various activities and games in the gym. Students in CFB learn the importance of fitness in their lives. Whether competing, playing a game, or learning a dance, students are learning which muscle groups they are using and how this positively affects their health.

Safety Patrol at Kent Elementary

Developing leaders is a priority at Kent Elementary.  Our 5th grade students serve on Safety Patrol.  The safety patrol is a  vital function at our school.  In addition, those who serve learn many life lessons such as: commitment to a job, punctuality to a job, completing a task with pride and doing your best, serving others, courtesy, and list goes on.
