P.E. was the place to be for Third Graders on September 6 at McCoy Elementary School. Coach Sharp had the Third Grade students practicing their flag football skills so that they will be ready for PTA Flag Football night on September 21, 2018.
Students at McCoy Elementary School are talented writers! On September 10th and 11th, Fifth Grade LEAPers practiced hiding haikus in free verse poems as well as practiced crafting small moment narratives. Their teacher Ms. Ford said, “We’re poets and we didn’t…wait, we did know it!”

4th grade writers at McCoy worked on personalizing their writing notebooks today with collages of family photos and clippings of things they love. The personalization makes their writing spaces special, helps them develop and rehearse ideas for writing, and makes the writing process exciting.
Thursday, August 24, 2018: Mrs. Hardwick’s McCoy Kindergarten Cowboys exploration of their connecting cubes math tub led to a “Let’s see if we can make this reach all the way across the room” project, and they did it. Team work definitely makes the dream work!
The R. L. Turner High School Lion Baseball and Softball teams will be hosting their inaugural Halloween costume baseball game on Oct. 29. Players will dress up in their favorite costumes and participate in a 7-inning exhibition game. Following the game, there will be a “Trunk or Treat” and carnival games for all children in attendance. In the event of rain, the alternate time/date will be 5-8 PM on Oct. 30. The event will be held at the RLT baseball field. Admission is free, but the teams will be accepting non-perishable canned food items to benefit Metrocrest Services.
