5th Grade Writers at McCoy

Students at McCoy Elementary School are talented writers!  On September 10th and 11th, Fifth Grade LEAPers practiced hiding haikus in free verse poems as well as practiced crafting small moment narratives.  Their teacher Ms. Ford said, “We’re poets and we didn’t…wait, we did know it!”

RLT Hosts Halloween at the Ballpark

RLT Hosts Halloween at the BallparkThe R. L. Turner High School Lion Baseball and Softball teams will be hosting their inaugural Halloween costume baseball game on Oct. 29. Players will dress up in their favorite costumes and participate in a 7-inning exhibition game. Following the game, there will be a “Trunk or Treat” and carnival games for all children in attendance. In the event of rain, the alternate time/date will be 5-8 PM on Oct. 30. The event will be held at the RLT baseball field. Admission is free, but the teams will be accepting non-perishable canned food items to benefit Metrocrest Services. For other clubs or organizations wishing to participate, please contact Coach Beavers at beaversn@cfbisd.edu.
