The Gateway Program (middle school PLTW) at Long and Blalack includes instruction at the 7th grade level in Design and Modeling and Robotics. This program is also offered at Polk Middle School at the 7th and 8th grade level.
Introduction to Engineering Design at Long and Blalack is the high school credit course that lays the foundation for the PLTW program. Pending the necessary criteria that includes a required performance objective on the EOC exam, students may apply for credit that may be applied to college credit earned as students continue their studies in the STEM pathway in high school and college.
The Principles of Applied Engineering course that is currently offered at Perry, Polk, Long and Blalack is offered as high school credit and is part of the STEM pathway of studies offered at Newman Smith, Creekview and Ranchview.
