Calendar Input for 2018-2019

The District is seeking input on calendars for the 2018-2019 school year. The District is bringing forward three calendar options.

Calendar Survey

The District is looking into becoming a District of Innovation with one of the parts of the Innovation Plan being flexibility in the school start date. State law dictates currently that school districts cannot begin before the 4th Monday in August. By becoming a District of Innovation, the calendar start date could be adjusted earlier than the 4th Monday. Two of the calendar options are District of Innovation calendars with the school start date before the 4th Monday. One of the calendar options is not a District of Innovation calendar; classes begin on the 4th Monday in August.

The School Board will make their final decision on becoming a District of Innovation at the February Board Meeting. This decision will impact the school calendar options.

Note: There is only one early release day each semester in all three calendars. The State of Texas will no longer grant a Early Release Days Waiver; therefore, CFB reduced the number of Early Release Days in order to meet the number of minimum minutes.
