R.L. Turner Students Place 2nd and 3rd in Programming Competition
Turner Lions place 2nd and 3rd at programming competition!
Please congratulate the 9 young ladies who attended the 4th annual Digital Divas-Girls In Tech mini-conference/programming competition. This all-girl event was held yesterday, February 4th, at Richardson High School. They all did an amazing job. Two of the teams walked away with trophies.
Fifty-three teams from around DFW and Houston participated. To encourage girls to compete and ensure the teams were competing against others of relatively the same experience, there were three categories that teams could register under, “never competed before”, “novice”, and “advanced”. The girls were treated to breakfast and lunch, listened to inspiring women speakers in the tech industry, had the opportunity to network with girls from other schools who are also interested in technology, went on a vendor walk and picked up cool freebies, participated in workshops and of course participated in a 2 hour programming competition. We had a great time.
