RLT Student Qualifies for 2018 VASE Competition

RLT Student Qualifies for 2018 VASERLT artist, Bayli Brown, qualifies for  the 2018 VASE Competition. The Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) is a state-level competition for the visual arts. The competition is the visual arts counterpart to UIL competition in Texas. The competition is overseen by the Texas Art Education Association.

On Feb. 24, 21 RLT artists competed at the regional level. Consequently, Brown is one of 60 students to qualify for the state contest. In addition to Brown’s achievement, her fellow artists are basking in the winning of 21 medals. While over 600 high school students in the state compete for a slot in this contest, less than 10% make the cut each year. Brown will represent Turner High School when her work will be judged against other top state competitors in April. RLT teacher, Elizabeth Binion, states, “we are very happy to represent Turner this year at state.”
