SAT Prep “Boot Camp”

The Boot Camp will cover the following:
What: Students may enter (1) one film into each of the four categories: Documentary, Narrative, Traditional Animation, Computer Animation
When: Entries are to be submitted via GoogleDrive to Whitney Kelley (kelleyw@cfbisd.edu) or Renee Putter (putterr@cfbisd.edu) between December 9, 2016 and January 5, 2017. All entries will be screened on January 13th at Creekview High School, and winners will be announced.
How: Talk to your campus contact for entry and submission guidelines.
Who can enter?
Open to all CFBISD full-time high school students: Creekview, Newman Smith, RL Turner, Ranchview, Early College High School
Will there be prizes?
Awards will be given for Best of Show, Best in Category and People’s Choice. Talk with your campus coordinator about entering the State Competition from your campus.
How much does it cost?
$10 per individual entry. Each student may only enter up to 4 film, one per category.
How long can the films be?
3-7 minutes total, including intro and credits

The Farmer’s Branch Carrollton Art Association will be hosting their annual Student/Scholarship Show from Saturday, November 2 through Friday, December 6 at the Farmer’s Branch Manske Library, 13613 Webb Chapel Road, Farmer’s Branch, Texas.
The show is open to all high school students in the Carrollton Farmer’s Branch ISD. Scholarships are given to graduating seniors planning to major in art at an accredited college, university, or academy.

On Oct. 15, Creekview Choir students competed in the Region 31 round of the All-State Choir audition process. Choir Directors Tara Sikon and Cody Alarcon are so proud of all the Creekview Choir students who auditioned in this very competitive region. Moving Ground Dance Company, our varsity artistic dance company, has a few updates to share with you!
After an adjudication review by a panel of TAHPERD (Texas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) dance professionals, Moving Ground has been invited to perform at the TAHPERD Convention in December! Other groups that will be performing include Texas A&M University, Tarrant County Northwest College, Sunset High School, W.E. Greiner Middle School, and Newman Smith! They were selected for:
a. “The Awakening” choreographed by Zach August & Myles Canonge for the Kaleidoscope Dance Concert
b. “Fallen” choreographed by Eddings & Cast for the Opening Ceremonies Concert
c. They will perform 5 performances at DOTS (Dance On The Spot) at different venues within the convention
If you enjoyed our performance of “Thriller” today at the pep assembly with our amazing CHS Orchestra, please come and see us both perform it again this Saturday for Movie on the Square! We are performing together at both 5:00 and 6:00 in the Carrollton Square around the gazebo. Creekview golfer Kyle Cox fired a 67 today at the District Preview tournament, which is believed to tie the all-time low round in school history.
He won the tournament by six shots, defeating a strong field that included all schools in our district.
