District Winners of Elks Hoop Shoot Advance

District Winners of Elks Hoop Shoot AdvanceEach year, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks holds a national free-throw program for youth, ages 8-13. The event, dubbed “The Elks National Hoop Shoot,” is a 46-year-old tradition of developing and reinforcing grit. Twelve students from CFB have won at the district level and will advance to compete against champions from other local districts on Jan. 19 at R. L. Turner High School. Over 3,000 students have participated leading up to this event.

RLT Siblings Are Top Scorers on Their Respective Basketball Teams

RLT Siblings Are Top Scorers on Their TeamsR. L. Turner High School basketball players Ronnie and Ronniah Akins are scoring leaders for their respective basketball teams. Ronniah, a sophomore on the girls’ team, and her brother Ronnie, a senior on the boys’ team, regularly practice together to improve their skills. The sibling duo, originally from Arkansas, have the potential to “lead Turner basketball to the play-offs,” according to Mike Ramirez, CFBISD Athletic Director.

Newman Smith Swimming Competes at Dual Meet

Congratulations to all seniors who competed at their last dual meet of their career! The swim/dive team recognizes Eden Nguyen, Vince Nguyen, Eric Dealba, Jeffrey Salgado and Napoleon Ferrer for their time and effort and to their accomplishments over the years! They left Desoto in their wake tripling in points at the end. First place finishes were made by Cody Imthurn, Rory Manley, Eleanna Martinez, Keaira Rosales and Vince Nguyen. Personal best times were set by Thomas Mitchell, Keaira Rosales, Jacob Rutan and Elsa Thompson (debut in her first high school meet)! Next meet will be after break at the annual New Year’s Classic at home on January 11-12.

High School Volleyball Teams Heading to Bi-District Playoffs

Congratulations to the Newman Smith Lady Trojans, Turner Lady Lions, and the Ranchview Lady Wolves on making it to the post season playoffs!

Ranchview were the 10-4A “Undefeated” District Champions! Newman Smith and Turner were 3rd and 4th place in District 11-5A!

Congratulations to Coach Christine Gregory (Newman Smith), Coach Nakia Belcher (R.L. Turner) and Coach Ashlyn Tate (Ranchview) on your outstanding coaching in getting our girls to the playoffs!

Good luck to all of our teams in the playoffs and you have made CFBISD very proud!

The Ranchview Wolves coached by Michael Kuban are District Champions of 9-4A and will compete in Area:
Following the Tentatively scheduled  10:00 A.M. Krum/Dallas Roosevelt winner @ Ranchview High School Thursday October 18th

The Creekview Mustangs coached by Bill Price defeated Dallas Seagoville in the Bi-District Round and will compete in Area:
vs Frisco Wakeland, Thursday October 18th, 7:00 A.M. at Lifetime Fitness in Plano

​The Newman Smith Trojans coached by Clint Brown defeated Dallas Spruce in the Bi-District Round and will compete in Area:
​vs Frisco Independence on Friday October 19th, 7 A.M. at Lifetime Fitness in Plano.​

CFB Cross Country Teams Region Bound

CFB Cross Country Teams Region BoundThe Cross Country teams from Turner High School and Ranchview High School are advancing from district to regionals. Turner girls placed 3rd overall as a team to advance to regionals on Oct. 22. at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie. The Lady Lions are coached by Juan Gomez.

The Ranchview Boys and Girls took 2nd overall as a team at the same event. The Wolves are coached by Tiffany Cherry.

CFB Tennis Teams Qualify for State Playoffs

CFB Tennis Teams Qualify for State PlayoffsThe Ranchview High School Wolves, coached by Michael Kuban, are District Tennis Champions of 9-4A and will have a bye in the Bi-District Round. Their area round match is Tentatively scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday in Lake Dallas vs. the Krum/Dallas Roosevelt winner.

The Creekview High School Mustangs, coached by Bill Price, finished 3rd in district 11-5A and will kick-off the Bi-District Round vs. Dallas Seagoville, Monday, Oct. 15 at 1 PM at the Creekview courts.

The Newman Smith High School Trojans finished 4th in district 11-5A tennis and will kick-off the Bi-District Round vs. Dallas Spruce. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 4 PM at Newman Smith High School.​

The Turner High School Lions, coached by Robert Evans, finished 5th place just one spot shy of the playoffs.
