Traditions are an important part of Troyanns. Â “Hello Gorgeous” and “Tap, Tap, Tap” were first penned by Stephanie Martin Cherney (director 1997-2006). Â The yellow rose was deemed the Troyann flower in 1979. Â The traditional field strut to “Hey Look Me Over” was choreographed by Debra Pullen Roth in the summer of 1980 and it debuted at the first football game that season. Â The script of the half time performances, “Ladies and Gentlemen, may I direct your attention to the sideline opposite the press box. Â Taking the field for your halftime entertainment, the Shining Stars of Newman Smith High School, the award winning Troyanns” was first heard that same night. Â The Fantastic Finale Spring Show was brought to the Smith Theatre starting the spring of 1981.
