Freshmen: 0-2

The Freshmen and JV Wolves teamed up again this week when Dallas Spruce only brought one subvarsity team.  The game ended in an 18-14 loss for the Wolves, but the score really doesn’t tell the story.  In the first half, Spruce connected on two pass plays and returned a punt for a touchdown.  That gave them an 18-0 lead going into halftime. The second half was a different story as the defense surrendered only 3 first downs.  The offense finally got on track as well and scored with a run from Neko Smith and a pass from Shun Mizuno to DJ Johnson to cut the score to 18-14 with 2:30 left.  On the ensuing drive, the defense came up with a huge stop on both 3rd and 1, and 4th and 1 giving the offense a chance with 1:40 left.  The comeback fell short but there were a lot of great plays made that can be built on.  The freshmen play next Thursday at Krum HS at 5:00.

Varsity: 1-1

The Varsity Wolves evened their record at 1-1 Friday night with a win over Dallas Spruce 26-14.  After being weather delayed for over an hour, the Wolves waisted no time in scoring.  Spruce fumbled the opening kickoff and two plays later TreTre Carter (20 carries 211 yards 3TDs) scored the first of his three touchdowns.  After a three and out by Spruce the Wolves scored again on an 8 play drive to go up 14-0.  Spruce cut the score to 14-7 at the half on a tipped pass in the end zone.  Dorian Windley caught a touchdown pass in the third quarter and Carter sealed the game with a 32 yard touchdown in the fourth.  The Wolves host Krum Friday night for homecoming.  See you there.

Team Reports:  Tennis

The Ranchview Tennis Team has a 3-0 district mark after defeating Lake Worth 11-1 last Monday.  Thus week the Wolves will be playing at home on Monday against Ft. Worth Western Hills and in the Hurst JV Tourney on Wednesday.  The Wolves have been working very hard.  Our strength is the depth in the team and that will be tested the remainder of the season. The team is a good mix of younger and older students and hopefully will continue to get better as the season moves along.
