RHS Golfer, Bohyun Park, is continuing to dominate tournaments after her 2nd back-to-back UIL State Championships. Park, who will be a junior at Ranchview High School in the fall, shot a 1-under 71 at the Eldorado Country club to qualify for the U.S. Girls’ Junior tournament. At the Jun. 17 event, Park tied with 3 other Texans and a golfer from the People’s Republic of China. The U.S. Girls’ Junior Championships will begin Jul. 22 in Stevens Point, WS. The SentryWorld golf course opened in 1982 and has a par of 72.

U.S. Girls Junior Championships

Established in 1949, the event drew a starting field of 28 girls from 17 states. The event has grown, with 1,559 entries received for 2019. The event is open to any female amateur players who have not reached the age of 19 by Jul. 21 and whose handicap index does not exceed 9.4. The event will see competitors from across the country and from across the world. While in its history, the winners have mostly been from the U.S., past winners have included golfers from France, South Korea, Paraguay, Taiwan, and Chile.
