On Feb. 12, students at McCoy Elementary celebrated Black History through song in a performance for parents. Students performed different styles of music that originated from African Americans. Styles of music included call and response, jazz, and spiritual. Students took turns at the microphone to explain to the audience the origins of the music before they performed each piece.
