Garnering a National Merit honor is an amazing accomplishment. Students that receive recognition at any level in the National Merit Program are to be commended for their hard work and determination. CFBISD wishes our heartfelt congratulations to these students.

National Merit Finalists Named

The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD is proud to announce the finalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship program.

National Merit Semifinalists for 2019

  • Isaac Chawdhury, R. L. Turner
  • Kaava Maddipudi, R. L. Turner

These students are among 15,000 high school seniors who will continue in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s competition for 7,500 merit scholarship awards worth $32 million that will be offered in the spring, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Students are selected based on performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. National Merit Scholarship Corporation reports that the pool of finalists represents less than one percent of the top high school seniors in the nation.
