On Feb. 16, students on the Creekview High School Mock Trial team were featured on WFAA Channel 8. Mock Trial has won at State six times – five in the last six years. Going for a sixth win in seven years, the team heads back to state competition Feb. 28 – Mar. 2.
The Team
The team includes attorneys Allen Mason, Kassandra Busby, and Liza Frolova; witnesses Jazmin Torres, Harris Pierce, and Yusraa Tariq; paralegal Isabella Barkat; and coach Brian Sheguit.
This year, the team faces a criminal manslaughter case regarding a patient who had a fatal allergic reaction to medication. Additionally, a hacker puts the hospital’s paperless records system offline demanding a ransom. It is loosely based on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
