Newman Smith High School will host the United States Military Academy LEADS Dallas Conference on January 20, 2017. Â Cadets and instructors from West Point will be on campus from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to conduct exciting workshops in VEX Robotics, Renewable Energy, Leadership, Fitness and STEM related careers. Â Approximately 200 students from Newman Smith, ROTC and middle school students will participate in the workshops.
Additionally, representatives from sixteen colleges and STEM related industries will be on hand to visit with students. Â This is an annual event sponsored by the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Â Newman Smith Assistant Principal LaDacher Jackson is coordinating this event.
