Hello and Welcome to Blanton Elementary! Â
My name is Dr. Tricia Badillo, and I am privileged to serve as the Principal of Blanton Elementary. I am confident that the 2019-20 school year will be the most successful one yet for every Blanton Bulldog, and I am excited to be a part of the amazing times ahead!Â
At Blanton, we understand the importance of building positive relationships with our students and families. We are a dedicated learning community focused on teachers and students working together to ensure every child is successful. Continuing for the second year, Blanton also provides amazing opportunities for students to excel academically through our SPARK STEM Academy.Â
Professionally, I have been fortunate to work in education for the past 25 years. After graduating with my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and Early Childhood Education from Abilene Christian University, I taught in Abilene, Texas for eight years followed by two years with CFBISD at Riverchase Elementary and nine years with Coppell ISD at Mockingbird Elementary. As a teacher, I reminded my students every day that even when something is difficult, they can be successful if they get help and give effort, and no matter what, they knew they were loved.Â
I earned my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington and served as an Assistant Principal with Coppell ISD at Denton Creek Elementary for four years and Lakeside Elementary for two years. I also completed my Doctorate in Education with Abilene Christian University with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership and Growth Mindset.
Personally, I am blessed with a full life. My husband and I are the proud parents of seven. We have one adult son, two daughters in college, two sons in high school, and a son and daughter in middle school. We celebrate successes and keep cheering when there are struggles. To add some excitement and snuggles to each day, we also have two dogs: one goldendoodle and a tiny white fluff-ball.  Every day is another day to celebrate the JOY in life!
I understand the important role parents and families play in the lives of our students, and I welcome the opportunity to work together.Â
Thank you for being a part of Blanton!
