SAT School Day Allows Students to Take SAT During School at No ChargeSAT School Day allows seniors and juniors to take the SAT at school and at no charge. For the fall, SAT School Day will be held on Oct. 10, 2018. There will be a second opportunity to improve the SAT score in the Spring, on Mar. 6, 2019. Taking the SAT at school removes barriers to some students who either cannot afford the test and/or are unable to arrange weekend transportation to the test that is typically administered on Saturdays. Super-scoring allows students to use the best score they make on each section of the SAT to submit to colleges. If a student does well on one portion of the test the first time they take it, but do better on another section the second time around, the best scores from the sections will be what is submitted to colleges students apply to. Additionally, studies have shown that taking the test in a familiar environment such as the student’s regular campus, greatly reduces anxiety and can lead to higher scores. Seniors will be automatically enrolled to that the SAT on Oct. 10, but students may opt out by filling out an online form by Sep. 5. Juniors interested in taking the test will need to fill out an opt-in form by Sep. 5.
