RLT Hosts 2017 Veterans Day Program
Because the sacrifices and service of our veterans are so revered, RLT hosts 2017 Veterans Day program to honor local heroes. R. L. Turner High School students and staff honored first responders and veterans with music, dancing, and tributes. The RLT NJROTC Cadets participated in the color guard ceremony as the orchestra played the theme songs to each of the armed services. Several veterans were in attendance, including two who fought during World War II. Private First Class Alvis B. Grant, from Carrollton, served 1942-1945 and survived the Battle of Iwo Jima. Corporal Henry Doncheski served 1941-1945, fighting on D-Day at Omaha Beach, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Liberation of France.
