Ranchview High School senior, Ava Castillo, had to dig deep at this year’s Regional Tournament. Â The two-day Regional 4AAAA Golf Tournament took place at Van Zandt Country Club. Ava had a difficult time on day one shooting a score of 90. She was in 15th place out of 85 regional qualifiers.
On day two, Ava had to shoot better than a 76, break the school record, and shoot a personal best in a high school tournament if she wanted to qualify for the state tournament.
Ava persevered and shot a 74! Ava will be going back to State to represent CFBISD and the Ranchview golf program!
The state tournament will be in Mable Falls at Horseshoe Bay Resort later this month.
